The world faces two defining challenges: stalling productivity growth and accelerating climate change. Incremental improvements, while important, simply won’t get us to where we need to be.

It’s time for exponential, breakthrough change. A 10x improvement in Carbon Productivity – the value we create per unit of carbon used – would simultaneously deliver a sustainable climate and a prosperous world.

On 14 June 2017, the Carbon Productivity Consortium convened 80 leaders from business, government, civil society and academia for a one-day event at the RSA in London. The goal was to explore the business models, technologies and mindsets that together will catalyse a shift from “business as usual” to breakthrough when it comes to addressing – and reversing – global warming.
